Kopin appoints Lucent Technologies’ Executive to Board

Epiwafer and display specialist, Kopin Corporation announced that its Board of Directors has appointed James K. Brewington, president of Developing Markets at Lucent Technologies, to its Board of Directors.

"Jim Brewington brings to Kopin an extensive knowledge of the global communications market, a background that will be invaluable as we continue to expand the opportunities for our HBT and display technologies," said Dr John C.C. Fan, Kopin's chairman and chief executive officer. "Having played a key role in building the Mobility business at Lucent and establishing its leadership in third generation technologies, Jim understands the catalysts that are driving our end markets. This expertise makes him an ideal choice not only as a board member, but also as a strategic asset to our company."

Prior to heading Lucent's Developing Markets group, Mr Brewington, 62, served as president of the company's Mobility Solutions Group, where he was responsible for all wireless infrastructure for the mobility segment, including global wireless development and product architecture, project management, and business and product management. He began his career at AT&T in 1968, and over the ensuing 38 years he has held various executive management positions in the telecommunications industry, including overseeing Bell Telephone Wireless Laboratories.
