IMI acquires US facilities

Philippines-based Integrated Microelectronics Inc acquired of the EMS and ODM assets of US Saturn Electronics and Engineering Inc and its subsidiary, Saturn Electronics Philippines Inc.

This allows IMI to take full advantage of Saturn facilities in Tustin, California, which include a technology and design center (with capabilities for advanced interconnect research, new product design and development, and engineering and manufacturing process development), prototyping and manufacturing facilities.

Other capabilities are for surface mount technology (SMT) chip-on-flex assembly, and flip-chip on flex assembly), and a programme management centre. IMI also acquires the high-volume SMT assembly facilities in Cebu, Philippines.
