True blue LEDs

Marktech Optoelectronics is now the UK distributor for the range of TSB 'true blue' LEDs from Cotco of Hong Kong. These feature materials and packaging improvements to enhance the performance and the ability to obtain a 'true blue' wavelength required for a variety of medical applications in a geometrically enhanced vertical chip structure which maximises total light extraction.

The III-nitride on SiC configuration also incorporates a current distribution layer that requires only a single wire bond for increased reliability.

Applications include skin and pain relief treatments including non-invasive therapies for skin rejuvenation and healing. The blue LED provides light which is believed to be a contractor and restrictor to aid in pain relief and the reduction of swelling. These blue LED therapies can be used where existing treatments such as ice are currently being used.
